What is involved in coaching?

The coach meets the client for ‘one to one’ sessions usually lasting an hour. Four such meetings will often be sufficient for the client to consider, plan and progress their goals. This takes place over a period of about 12-16 weeks to allow for change and progression to take place.

Who does coaching work for best?

People who want change and are willing to take actions, while supported by their coach, to make that change happen.

Does coaching work for teenagers?

Very much so, teenagers by their nature are in a constant state of flux. They know… but they don’t. Parents are no longer the font of all knowledge. An independent voice (and more importantly an independent ear) can be very valuable. This creates a space to consider, make decisions, plan and - the big one - act. This is the objective of coaching.  The period from Transition Year to Leaving Certificate is an ideal time to work with a coach.
